The Don-Ella cookies, a yummy recipe accident

This recipe started by accident. Mamaw was making strawberry cookies which is a family favorite (recipe in a previous post) and accidentally used a white cake mix instead of a strawberry cake mix. Of course we all had to try them and we all agreed they would be fabulous if she added some cranberry raisins and white chocolate. So mamaw made a second batch and sure enough they were fabulous and are now our new favorites! Since some of us are on low carb diets… surprisingly when we did the calculations both these cookies and the strawberry cookies are not too high in carbs (actually really low carb for a cookie!) and fit in with our diets (in moderation) and make a really yummy holiday treat!

So here is the recipe for mamaws accidental discovery of the best cookies on Earth! Simple to make and yummy to eat!

Mix together:

1 white cake mix, 1 8oz pkg cream cheese, and 1 egg. Add 1 cup cranberry raisins and 3/4 cup white chocolate chips. Place in the fridge for 1 hour to chill.

Using a spoon drop cookie dough balls on to cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 12-14 minutes.

Cookies are now done and once they have cooled a bit you can enjoy with you favorite beverage (we like coffee or tea). So delicious! We got 26 cookies from this batch.

Yep… we stick the family favorite recipes on this web site because everyone asks for the recipe and I get tired of typing it or writing it out for people so… here it is and everyone is welcome to use it. just give mamaw the credit please lol because sometimes accidents (and not using your reading glasses) result in fabulous new discoveries!
