New washing machine detergent sheets for our RV and home (review and a gift giving subscription idea)

For years now we have been using washeze laundry sheets (see other blog post about those) which I discovered in the commissary many years ago when I was in the military. They were so easy to pack and use when in the field! Much easier than powder, liquid or tablets that could crush in a ruck sack and make a big mess. I loved them because it was a sheet that had detergent and softener all in one and was so very easy to pack on trips and use. You could even hand wash with them!

We recently had an issue with the sheet getting caught in the coin catcher of our new splendide washer dryer combo in the RV making it not drain and dry clothes properly. After figuring out the issue we switched to these newer style washing detergent sheets. It took a bit of work on Hubby’s part to fish that washing sheet out of the coin catcher of the splendide and thank goodness for the shop vac or we would have flooded the RV because the machine stoped working with a full load including water! He had to suck out all the water from the drain at the bottom of the machine as he opened the coin catcher compartment slightly to let the water come out and catch it with the shop vac! Now that could have caused a mighty mess for sure! Hence the search for a new favorite product leading us to these….

Th new brand of washing sheets we are now using gets rave reviews from this blogger!

These are straight up detergent. No softener like the other brand. However, we have found that softener isn’t really required for static control with the splendide machine after trying this brand. Which is something I was a bit worried about. I assume that because the dry time is so long and such a slow process compared to a regular house dryer that the static doesn’t build up as bad? Either way, it doesn’t seem to be an issue at all! Which is awesome because that’s one less item I need in the RV!

The other nice thing (and more importantly!) is that these sheets dissolve completely in water! So there is no possibility of them getting caught in the coin catcher to cause problems! They come pre perforated and half a sheet is perfect for the splendide loads of laundry! The box they come in slides out like a drawer and is super convenient for usage as well. The best thing is the price! I ordered these on Amazon and you can even set up for monthly subscription delivery of the product. We also used these in the regular house washer and dryer (combined with a standard dryer sheet for the dryer) and that worked great as well! Half a sheet for a small load and a full sheet for a large load.

Easy to use pre perforated sheets in a nice drawer like box!

Price wise these are very economical! Less storage space is required. Hardly any trash, just the little box, after you are finished using them, so they are environmentally friendly in that sense. They have a fragrance free and a scented option. I get the fragrance free due to allergies. These don’t bother me at all and seem to be a nice allergy friendly detergent. They clean the clothes well. so everything is win-win!

The only possible down side I can see is that since they dissolve in water you don’t want to touch the sheets with wet hands lol and maybe storing them in a zip bag because we all know about humidity in RV’s sometimes being an issue lol… but I honestly think these more modern detergent sheets are awesome! There are other brands out now too… wish they would start stocking them in brick and mortar type stores, but right now Amazon is the way to go if you want to try them out. But at 120 loads (for the splendide washer) at (current price of less than $10 a box) for these sheets… I think they meet and exceed all my requirement! Give them a try and I think you will like them!

As a side note: I also like these for the home because you don’t have to lug back a heavy box or bottle of detergent from the store. They are also great for elderly or disabled because it’s much easier to use than trying to fuss with those heavy bottles and boxes too. A gift subscription to a loved one for the holidays would make a nice gift for that someone who has everything, and you don’t know what to get them. Or for that someone who lives in a tiny space and would enjoy a space saving product. College students would probably love it as well. I gifted a niece in school a years supply subscription of the washeze, back a few years ago before these more modern versions came out, and it was a huge hit! Sometimes practical gifts are well received!
