Box Loom and Paddle Loom made by my friend at Moss Scroll Works

I have been wanting a box loom and a paddle loom for years! They are small and portable and excellent for tiny living and doing demonstrations at museums! They make what is called tape, and tape can be used for so many different things! I’ve created a running list of some things I like to use the tape for and will include it below for some examples of things it can be used for.

Recently I met a new friend who owns Moss Scroll Works (you can find him on face book if you want to order a box loom or paddle loom). After talking with him and collaborating for several weeks over what I wanted to have made he was able to produce an excellent Box loom and paddle loom for me! It’s really hard to find a box loom because they are normally considered antiques and have been replaced by the more modern Inkle looms (which I also have). The only people who make box looms now days are wood working artisans. They are not sold by commercial weaving loom manufactures. They have an old school look and feel that is charming and are so easy to use! I was so giggly happy and jumping for joy when my new friend made my new looms!

This is some photos taken at his workshop of his almost finished product that he was working on for me! I was drooling when he sent me these photos! I couldn’t wait to get my hands on them and start to play!

I did a couple of instructional videos on how to use the looms on YouTube after my friend was done making them and they work like a dream!!!You can find those videos here:

Here is the promised list of things you can use tape for! Honestly the list is just a beginning of things I found interesting and wanted to make a list of for myself, so feel free to add to the list in the comments and help our readers out! If you don’t have a box loom or paddle loom… then contact Moss scroll works on Facebook and get one ASAP because you really don’t know what fun you are missing out on! Happy Crafting!
