What’s new at Conestoga Chuck’s house?

We have been super busy crafting and getting ready for a Christmas craft show to sell some items as a fundraiser for the Gilmer County WV Historical Society. We finished the last of our planned projects today (although I’m sure I will come up with a few more things to make between now and then lol) and I’m really loving this tea pot recycled into a sewing kit project! We made 6 of them between yesterday and today but this is by far the nicest one 🙂 the lid of the tea pot becomes a pin cushion!

Then… because apples are plentiful and in season right now we made some miniature apple pies and canned some apples by cooking the apples in the instant pot and then using cup cake holders to make mini pies! Yum! These are sooooo good!

Since I had so many apple peelings and apple cores left over after peeling all those apples, I got out the handy dandy fermenting crock to make some apple cider vinegar too 🙂 we go thru a lot of vinegar in our house making cleaning sprays and doggie spritz sprays for Conestoga Chuck’s winter in between baths doggie deodorizer sprays lol this will sit in the cellar house and ferment for the next several days and then we shall have a lovely batch of vinegar!

And a few more lovelies we made for the craft show lol (I just have to show these off a bit before they sell!)

Who doesn’t love the grinch??? and the elf and Santa slippers turned out spectacular!

Honestly between crafting, cooking, and working on setting up (and making some minor repairs) an antique barn loom at the historical society… the last several weeks have flown by and I can’t believe we are almost into December already! Yikes! It’s almost time to decorate for Santa’s arrival! Hmmmm… Conestoga Chuck may need a Santa hat… I think I have my next knitting project! Maybe an elf hat for his little sister? Welp…. back to the knitting needles folks.

I hope everyone takes the time to make some Christmas gifts that are handcrafted and/or upcycled for this year. Get creative and you will be amazed at what you can come up with! All the items I made are mostly patterns and ideas I found online and did some minor changes to … so if you need inspiration, then your muse is just a mouse click away!
