Ran into a bit of snow in SD yesterday with even more snow in the forecast right smack dab in the middle of our chosen route between “here and there” lol so what’s a wagon train to do but circle up the wagons and stay in camp an extra night! We were super lucky to be in a really nice retro, family run, RV park that was just our style… so no real big deal lol and I needed a day to do some laundry anyway. Dogs and wet muddy areas mean lots of paw wiping towels! If you don’t already have a “paw plunger” mug then this little handy paw washing device is an absolute must have item! Just place the paw in the mug of warm soapy water and towel dry. It has a soft bristle brush built into the inside that does all the scrubbing for you. Always give a treat afterwards so the dog learns that the paw plunge means a yummy treat! I always ask for them to give me their paw and tap the one I want before picking it up… that way they help a bit 🙂 and don’t struggle with the process.

So we woke up to sleet, snow, rain and super high winds… followed by phone calls to our next several days worth of reserved camp sites to make arrangements for a day delay in previous reservations we made… followed by catching up on laundry! Shop towels work rather nice as paw drying towels because they wash and dry fast in the RV washer/dryer. They also don’t take up a bunch of room 🙂

Next… one must have some fun activities for such inclement weather days! So we decided to do some binge TV watching using our Roku and cell phone internet connection 🙂 hubby is a genius on hooking up electrical stuff lol. Meanwhile hubby got out his leather tooling kit and made us a leather handle for the cast iron skillet which this one is the prototype to one he is going to make with a pretty tooled design later. I made several crochet holders for icee-pops! Something small and fun and easy to do while binge watching a favorite series on TV and waiting on laundry to finish. In between walking dogs who didn’t want to go outside in the cold and wet! And then washing and drying muddy paws of course… sigh… more towels to wash lol

Not necessarily a thrilling day, but sometimes a down day is just what the doctor ordered 🙂 and tomorrow we will have the Conestoga back on the wagon trail! Happy trails to you…
