We spent an amazing day at SCRaP today making some fun little pinch pot examples for some classes we want to do for some local kids this winter. Meanwhile my friend Violet taught me how to attach the handle and the flower I made yesterday to my cup. We also cleaned and tidied a bit which is our volunteer part of the job to get the area set up for the kiddos to play and learn. Violet will be teaching and I am a novice so I am just the helper on this venture. I’m learning more than I am helping tho lol.
We had so much fun, it seemed like we were only there for a few minutes.. when in fact it had been 5.5 hours! How time does fly when you are having fun! Violet honestly did most of the tidying because I had no clue what half the stuff was… while I squished clay into funny pinch pots lol
I decided to make a funny face pinch pot cup and a dragon jewelry holder. I made a dragon jewelry holder once upon a time when I was a kid taking pottery classes myself … and carried it around well into my 30’s before it finally broke in a household move 😦 so I thought maybe the kids might like a little inspiration and made a replica dragon for them to use as inspiration. I actually made this design up straight from my imagination when I was about 7 years old lol… I don’t remember this part of the story but apparently my much older (college age back then) brother (just for giggles) placed it in the local art show along with all their very nice fancy pottery with a price tag of $1500 just to make people giggle. Lol I’m sure that got some crazy looks! I think my dragon needs some additional features this time so he is not quite done yet 🙂 you will just have to check back to see his progress! But I’m thinking spiky ridges along his back hmmm

So kiddos come on down to SCRaP in Billings MT (or find a local pottery art place if you don’t live in Billings) and learn how to make your mom a very expensive (giggle giggle just kidding, it’s only expensive if my brother puts a price tag on it lol) jewelry holder for Christmas!
Meanwhile Conestoga Chuck and lil bit spent a relaxing day at home and when I returned Conestoga Chuck said “woof woof woof woof…” oh… sorry, I forgot you haven’t been trained to understand doggie speech yet from Sunny’s human (our newest addition to the Conestoga Chuck contributing writers doggie/human teams and dog/human trainer extraordinaire!) so I should translate… “welcome home mom… wanna play ball?!?! I missed you so much! When’s dinner?” And then we played ball and had dinner lol. I’m going to have to get after Conestoga Chuck because he has been leaving all the writing up to me for the last few days …. lazy dog! Lol
