Kitchen vintage must have for RV traveling and home: a sugar shaker

Everyone knows my penchant for vintage corning ware lol. This little set is super handy if you have a coffee (or tea) drinker in your family that takes sugar in their drinks. My dad had one on the farm and I just had to find one for the RV!

Why is this thing so handy? First: it prevents sugar (on a spoon) being spilled all over the countertop as a certain someone (hubby!) is making his coffee half asleep in the morning and thus creating an ant buffet all over my kitchen by spilling sugar everywhere (off the spoon) as he takes it from the sugar jar to the coffee cup! I swear he even gets it to go into the bedroom somehow! Well no more! He shakes the sugar into his spoon (over the cup) and voila no mess!

Second: this thing is easy to stow when traveling. I just put it in a zip lock bag and place it in a cabinet before we head down the road. We also have one in the house we use too.

Third: it’s small enough that we can leave it on the counter by the coffee pot without it getting in the way in our tiny kitchen (both at home and in the RV). But large enough that it holds a good amount of sugar.

The best place to look for a vintage set like in the photo is the local thrift stores and garage sales, but you can probably find one in the local antique store as well for less than $20 (including the matching salt and pepper shakers). If you are one of those people who just wants one NOW!!!… here you go! Amazon truly does have everything folks lol
